Glastonbury Town – How to get there –
Glastonbury Town is situated in the County of Somerset,in the UK, approximately 3.5 hrs by car west of London, and 1 hr south of the city of Bristol. There are a few different public transport options to get there. Check out this useful GUIDE TO GETTING TO GLASTONBURY TOWN
Places to Stay – there are a few places to stay, here is a selection that I am familiar with:
Camelot Retreat, B&B in housing estate close to Chalice Gardens and Glastonbury Tor. About 15 mins walk to centre of town. Very popular with spiritual visitors and provides the opportunity to meet other likeminded seekers, in the town to explore and/or attend events, such as the Goddess Conference, usually held in late July.
Jasmine Cottage. B&B just north of town centre, about 10 mins walk, and like Camelot Retreat, very popular with spiritual visitors and provides the opportunity to meet other likeminded seekers, in the town to explore and/or attend events.
Berachah Guest House ,Well House Lane , Glastonbury. B&B Accommodation, with a selection of rooms, situated between the The White Spring, and the footpath leading up to Glastonbury Tor and opposite the Chalice Gardens. Their site says that they have some “wonderful panoramic views over the Vale of Avalon and Wearyall Hill“, (legendary connection to Joseph of Arimathea, uncle of Jesus). The house was apparently “designed and built by Welsh architect who named in Berachah, meaning Place of Special Spiritual Blessing“. It’s still on my list to stay here, but whenever I walk past I always feel it looks amazing and I am sure being so close to the two Springs and the Tor means staying here must be a special “experience”.
Premier Inn Glastonbury, Hotel Accommodation with Restaurant Attached. Located on the Southern Edge of town, close to Wearyall Hill, heading towards the small town of Street. About 20 mins walk into the centre of Glastonbury. I have used this many times, as I like the consistency of quality of the offer, also close to supermarkets and fast food outlets.
Travelodge, Glastonbury, Hotel Accommodation. Located on the Southern Edge of town, About 20 mins walk into the centre of Glastonbury. Close to supermarkets and fast food outlets.
