Cornwall-Hurler’s Stone Circles & Ley Line Connection

Anthony shares thoughts from a special late summer weekend visit to North Cornwall, including using Divining Rods to connect with the Earth’s Natural Energy at the Hurler’s Stones, an unusual set of concentric stone circles, set in what looks like an ancient ceremonial site, placed on the significant Michael/Mary energy Ley Line

Situated just North of Liskeard, on the edge of Bodmin Moor, approximately 2hrs drive from Glastonbury and 5hrs drive from London, this collection of ancient Stone Circles is said to lie on the Michael/Mary Ley Line. I visited this site with friends whilst based at Tintagel for the weekend and whilst there we bumped into John, an amateur diviner, who showed us how to locate the energy lines. It was an amazing experience as the divining rods moved for all of us, without any “fiddling” going on! It has been postulated that the Michael/Mary Ley Line runs west from East Anglia to Cornwall, passing through major Spiritually significant sites along the way, such as Avebury and Glastonbury, as shown below. It intersects with the The Saint Michael line near St Michael’s Mount, Penzance. The Saint Michaels Line, as shown below, can be traced from Ireland through Europe to the middle east, connecting monasteries and other sacred sites dedicated to the Archangel Michael along the way (see diagram below). The aligned sites are almost all located on prominent hilltops including Skellig Michael, St Michael’s Mount, Mont Saint-Michel, the Sacra di San Michele, San Michele Arcangelo, the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo, the Panormitis Monastery of the Archangel Michael and Symi.

To find out more on Ley Lines check out the following books: The Old Straight Track and The Ley Hunter’s Manual , both written by Alfred Watkins in the early 20th Century. Watkins is considered by many as the founder of the modern western consideration of Ley Lines. Although later adopted by the New Age movement to mean lines of ‘earth energies’, Watkins’ original vision of ‘leys’ was simply of a system of alignments of natural and man-made features in the landscape, used by our ancient forebears to orient themselves in the world. A more recent book called ‘The New View Over Atlantis’, by John Mitchell, explores the connection of Ley Lines with UFO sightings and extra-terrestrial visitors.

Apart from being in nature, with ponies and sheep, and enjoying some amazing views (subject to mist conditions of course), this place gives you the opportunity to connect with the Earth’s energy and natural rhythms. Undoubtedly it was a special place for ceremony in the ancient past, which means you can connect with the impact that had on the environment , on an energic level. As energy is timeless, we can connect today, as our ancestors did in the past. I highly recommend you add this to your South West UK itinerary when visiting the area.
